On June 10th and 11th, Malesco (VB) became the logistics base of the 53rd edition of the Valli Ossolane Rally.
Two days of glorious sunshine and the audience of special occasions provided the perfect backdrop to the Piedmontese “Mundialito”. Competition valid for the tricolor series of the Rally Piston Cup and rally championship in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta. Ten special tests scheduled, covering a total distance of 480 km, 80 of which timed, making it a long and challenging race.
Andrea Crugnola and Fulvio Solari won the race on Ford Fiesta R5, fast and perfect as always.
The crew from Valsesia, formed by Gianluca Quaderno and Lara Zanolo, on Renault new Clio R3C by Autofficina P.R.T., after a mistake on the first timed track, had to perform at their best to reduce the gap.
A spectacular catch up race that they finished in second place in the two-wheel drive cars, just three seconds behind the leader and in an optimum twelfth place in the overall standings. A result that represents a good score in the championship context.
This competition, valid for the Rally Piston Cup 2017 tricolor series, brings precious points to determine the final standings.
Next appointment for the Grignaschese crew, member of the Speed Fire stable, on the special trials of the 36th “111 Minuti” Rally, scheduled for July 8th and 9th, with departure and arrival in Novara.
