The international contemporary art meets the Italian industry at “Il Maggiore”

The new architecture of the Multifunctional Events Centre “Il Maggiore”, overlooking the homonymous lake, bears the signature of the Madrilenian architect Salvador Perez Arroyo.

The Municipality of Verbania has inaugurated the exhibition area on Saturday, October 1st, 2016 with several high-profile events.

This cultural offer has also seen the opening of the exhibition “Art meets Industry” with works on view courtesy of the industrialist and patron Bruno Guidi.

The works Motorboat and Surfin ‘bird, lent free of charge by Guidi to the city of Verbania, have been placed in the large foyer of Il Maggiore.

The American photographer Jill Mathis, who exposed the photos of the collection Industry, curated the exhibition.

Giovanni Rodari oversaw the organization and the event was accompanied by the workshop of the British artist Chris Gilmour, entitled “Break the boxes.”

It is with great pleasure – say the mayor Silvia Marchionini and the councillor for culture Monica Abbiati – that we welcome this important gesture of company Guidi, that lends for a long time to the city and to Il Maggiore, two important works of two great artists of international renown as Chris Gilmour and Marco Lodola.
