On Sunday, June 10th in Santa Margherita Ligure (GE), on the paths of Monte di Portofino, the 2018 Enduro Italian Championship took place, one of the most awaited races of the season.
The best Italian riders battled to conquer the championship and the coveted three-coloured shirts!
Our team joined the event with the young athletes Filippo Masotti and Matteo Fancello. Unfortunately, the weekend didn’t start well. Already during the first tests, on Thursday, Filippo is forced to stop due to a broken hand following a fall. A real shame after all the commitment and sacrifices that Pippo faced during this season. The calendar is still long and we hope he gets back soon. We are sure of one thing: he will come back stronger than before!
On Sunday, it was up to Matteo to bring the team’s colours to the race.
On the special trails, made arduous by the rain during the first half of the day, he concluded 13th in the category of beginners/young athletes. The slippery ground caused Matteo to make some mistakes but the result is great considering this was his first time in an Italian championship.
Thank you to the organization and our most sincere congratulations to all the winners and new Italian champions 2018!
The next events for the Guidi Rosas Bike Team will be: June 24th in Val di Fassa (TN) for the third stage of the Superenduro circuit and, if Filippo recovers properly from his injury, he will take part in the Italian leg of the Enduro World Series on July 22nd in La Thuile (AO).
Thank you to Barbara Ragazzi and Nicola Fancello for the photos.
