Just like every year Laigueglia International Granfondo opened the cycling season.
Liguria and its warm temperatures attracted many passionate bikers looking forward to seeing the first results after long winter training.
This year again more than 1300 athletes got started for a 118km race that, after a first fast part of 20km along the seashore, climbed the near inland mountains with 3 long up-hills.
Race ended with a short “slope”, but after 116km it seemed just like climbing Stelvio mountain!
Racing for Guidi Rosas Bike Team, Luca Tarricone and Martino D’Alberto, back this season in our “great family”.
- Luca finally got 136th overall, with 1293 bikers who passed the finish line.
- Martino was 247th. Due to some physical problems he was forced to step out from the first 100, where he was for most of the race.
Next effort for the two athletes will be Granfondo di Alassio, Sunday March 15th, in the meantime some minor races to get ready in perfect shape.
Another member of our team should join them, but we will find out further on…
