Gianluca Quaderno and Lara Zanolo runner-up in R3 class in Italian Cup

The Grignaschese crew of Speed Fire confirmed their level by signing an excellent performance with the Renault Clio R3 cared for by Autofficina P.R.T.

Gianluca Quaderno and Lara Zanolo closed the Italian Cup chapter with a bittersweet second place in the single final at the Lazio-Cassino Rally.

The Valsesian crew with the usual Autofficina P.R.T. Renault Clio closed the circle of a season by winning the first zone Rally Cup, a success that qualified them for the final round in Lazio.

The Cassino competition was not easy, the comparison was definitely of a high level.

At the start, there was the best of Italian rallying with class winners on a regional basis. A race therefore extremely tight as well as selective.

The duo of the Speed Fire racing team, after a cautious start on the first two trials on Friday, went on the attack on Saturday morning taking the lead in the provisional standings confirming their value. Only a small but fundamental uncertainty on the choice of tires in the last two specials was fatal for them to lose the leadership making them finish the race with the silver medal at only 4.5″ from the winner, the Tuscan Claudio Fanucchi.

A season therefore ended with another strong performance but one that leaves some bitterness in the mouth.

Gianluca’s comment: It was a challenging and tight race against top level opponents. After the three zone wins, winning the final as well would have been the icing on the cake. Second place in the final is not bad but, as a rider, not satisfying.

Lara and I would like to thank all the partners-friends who supported us in this adventure. See you next year!

Now the winter break to better prepare for the 2024 season.
